mentorship
The Mentorship initiative within The McMaster Women in Engineering Society has been a long-standing tradition. First-year students are paired with an upper-year student either in the same stream or a stream of engineering they are interested in. After an introduction event in September, we provide each pair with their social medias and emails and encourage them to ask each other questions, meet up, and come to our events together throughout the year! The mentors are students who are available to help guide their mentee through any tough times, questions about classes, and even introduce them to other connections and friends they have. We are very passionate about ensuring each student, regardless of gender or level of education, has the opportunity to form a relationship with a student currently studying engineering to form a mentorship bond.
